Trailer equipment

A tank trailer is a tank mounted on a truck chassis with two or more axles depending on payload capacity and with a coupling device for connection to a truck, usually a tank truck or semi-trailer tank. Compared with tank trucks and semi-trailer tanks, this type of transport is used less often, but it is still applied for specific tasks.

The main purpose of a tank trailer is transportation and short-term storage of liquids and bulk materials. Tanks are made from high-strength alloy steel, aluminium or fiberglass. Tank trailers with fiberglass tanks are intended for transporting aggressive liquids. Trailers can be manufactured with frame or self-supporting construction.
